Hannah Chiffinch Hare with her Husband Joseph

DescriptionHannah and Joseph Hare lived in the Kaeo area. Originally from London then later the Waikato, Hannah had nine children from her previous marriage to Thomas Skinner. Hannah and Joseph's marriage in 1868 was arranged by the church after the death of her first husband, a missionary named Thomas Skinner. Joseph, also a missionary and widower from Ireland, had eleven children and he and Hannah went on to have five more. Joseph died in 1919 having lived to almost 100 years old. Hannah died in 1898 aged 68. Both are buried at Totara North Cemetery.
