DescriptionRobert Mair, son of early Northland settlers, recorded his childhood memories and other material in notebooks. Volume 4, dedicated to his son Sydney in May 1910, includes handwritten copies of Robert Mair and Gilbert Mair's correspondence, recollections of historic events like the Treaty of Waitangi signing, Māori war parties, and battles, as well as descriptions of local identities.
