DescriptionRobert Mair, son of early Northland settlers Gilbert and Elizabeth Mair, recorded his childhood memories and historic events in notebooks. Volume 3 includes his recollections of the Battle of Rangiriri, the sacking of Kororareka, and Tirarau's land claims, along with poems, correspondence, and newspaper extracts. Some letters discuss the gifting of Mair Park to Whangarei. This material was donated by his great-grandson Kenneth Mair, with other family papers held at Alexander Turnbull Library.Author/CreatorRobert MairFormatDiary
